We are looking forward to helping your child have a great time at Summer Music Programs! Please review the information below, but also dorm checklist and questionnaire for your child. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call us at 610 526 6114, or email Chet Makowski.
WHERE AND WHEN - Check-in begins at 4 pm each Sunday at Klein Hall. Dinner on Sundays begins at 5 pm and ends at 6 pm. All dorm rooms, rehearsal rooms and graphics stations will be in Klein Hall. Friday night concerts will also be in Klein Hall (first floor, cafeteria.) The recording studio will be off campus. Everyone is required to be checked out NO LATER THAN 10 am the following Saturday morning. If you plan to stay over the weekend we need to know BEFORE enrollment in order to schedule meals, supervision, etc. HEALTH ISSUES - Please read the letter from Harcum's Medical Director regarding immunization records. This form will be mailed to you after your enrollment has been verified. This form MUST be submitted prior to enrollment for anyone residing on campus. Also required is a proof of health insurance coverage for your child. OTHER INFORMATION - Every individual enrolled is responsible for their own bed linens and toiletries. If necessary, we can make arrangements for linen rental. There are also coin operated washers and dryers in Klein Hall. There is a $50 key deposit due at enrollment. Harcum College has a 24 hour security staff. Klein Hall dorm halls have swipe card protected and alarmed doors. INSTRUMENTS AND EQUIPMENT - All musicians must provide their own instruments, amplifiers and other equipment. Rentals can be arranged at reasonable rates but at least one week advanced notice must be given. Summer Music Programs will provide secure overnight storage for every musicians equipment. Summer Music Programs will also provide P.A. equipment for vocals only. As stated in the musician info letter, we strongly recommend that you have instruments, amps and other equipment professionally inspected. Summer Music Programs cannot be responsible for damage to equipment or instruments under normal use. PLAYING IN GROUPS - Even though all groups will have adult musicians as group teachers, your child may be grouped with other young musicians they may never have met before. Because such social interaction is difficult for some kids, we invite you to contact us with any special instructions so that we can make your child's time here as wonderful as possible. "DO'S" - Every young musician is expected to treat everyone else (especially other young musicians) with courtesy and respect. All musicians will follow the instructions of their band teachers at all times. "DON'T'S" -No one is allowed to touch property that belongs to someone else without their permission, especially their instrument. Vandalism of property (i.e. college or studio) will not be tolerated. Illegal substances (including alcohol and tobacco) will not be tolerated. According to township ordinances, skate boarding and in line skates are not allowed.
